Academic and Behavioral Intervention

A lot of factors affect how a child learns. By means of formal or informal assessment, I will learn how your child learns by gathering baseline data, and determining possible goals in all areas of concern.

Intervention is a direct service that can be provided to your child in your own home or a nearby library. I will help your child practice the necessary skills he or she is lacking in the areas of academics and/or behavior (see right).

An Educational Plan will be developed through direct consultation with the parents. It will include information on the specific interventions that will be used. Educational Plans are implemented with agreement and permission from the parents.

Educational Plan

  • Baseline Data- collected from assessment

  • Proposed Goals- in all areas of concern

  • Recommendations and Possible Interventions- including frequency and duration of intervention time

  • Parent Education Time- time to help parents become part of the intervention process so that the child and parent can work together towards his or her goals

  • Progress Monitoring Plan- parents will receive a progress report after six weeks of intervention, which may include continued recommendations
