Parent Consultation

My goal as a Licensed Educational Psychologist is to support families by providing information and recommendations to parents so that they can make the best decisions for their children.

Parents are always the expert on their own child. I keep this in mind while I explore your concerns and make suggestions to allow your child to reach the best of his or her ability, specifically in regards to school, education, teaching, and learning.

With parent permission, I will be happy to consult with school-based professionals or other outside agencies working with your child to provide necessary support for your child's specific educational needs.

Parent consultation includes discussion of student strengths and weaknesses, parent and school concerns, and recommendations, including possible intervention and/or counseling services.

I specialize in providing information and recommendations for parents of students with disabilities and who have Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). However, I can also provide key information to parents first learning about school-based support, such as the Student Success Team (SST) process or Section 504 Accommodation Plans.

I can also help if your child is having difficulty with behavior at home or at school. Is your child not responding to discipline? Is homework time a struggle? Do you want some helpful tips and tricks? Parent Consultation is a great place to start!
